Hey guys, Joanne here! Patients have been asking about general Chiropractic Care, in particular Myths vs. Facts
Misinformation can often cloud our understanding of healthcare practices. This post is to clear the air about chiropractic care!
Myth: Chiropractors are only for back pain.
Fact: Chiropractic care goes beyond back pain! While it is effective for spinal issues, chiropractors can also address headaches, joint pain, and enhance overall wellness.
And what's overall wellness really mean? We'll put up this information in our next post!
Myth: Chiropractic adjustments are painful
Fact: Adjustments are gentle and tailored. At Onsite Spine Chiro, our chiropractic adjustments are precise, gentle, and personalised to your needs. Most patients feel relief, not pain, after sessions.
However, some older generation chiropractors can be heavy handed. This may cause ligament laxity (see previous post on why your pain does not go away) which may bring you to the chiro's office more often.
Myth: Chiropractors aren't real doctors
Fact: Chiropractors undergo extensive education. Chiropractors complete rigorous training, often equivalent to medical doctors, including anatomy, physiology, and clinical practice. They are licensed healthcare professionals.
Myth: Chiropractic care is not evidence-based
Fact: Research supports chiropractic effectiveness. Numerous studies demonstrate the benefits of chiropractic care for various conditions. It's a science-backed approach that continues to evolve with ongoing research.
We only use evidence based treatments at Onsite Spine Chiro!
Unfortunately, there are older generation chiropractors who believe that they can cure asthma or any sort of disease that needs medical attention. At Onsite Spine Chiro, we use science and research based facts to justify our explanation
Myth: Once you start, you can't stop chiropractic care
Fact: It really depends on the Chiropractor's philosophy. Generally, evidence based chiropractors work to address the root cause of issues. Treatment plans are personalised, and many patients find relief and choose to continue for ongoing wellness, not dependency.
